How Can I Restart My Migration?

Data re-migration option lets you remove all previously migrated data from the target and transfer it once again to the same platform but with changed settings, mapping, etc. After the Full Data Migration, you can use data re-migration to set things right.

Here are a couple of reasons why you can re-migrate data:

  1. fix errors
  2. apply custom field mapping
  3. update user profiles in a target platform
  4. enable audit fields
  5. customize your data movement

Keep in mind, this process will remove all the data moved before, including any edits or updates you've made. It will restart the migration fresh from your current platform.

What Are the Benefits of Data Re-migration?

1. Correct your mistakes:
Fix any mistakes and oversights from the initial migration. It's your safety net for achieving perfection.

2. Test sandbox migration:
Set up a test migration to the sandbox, check if all reports generate correctly. If everything is fine, proceed to migrate to the live account.

3. Improve data consistency:
Re-fine your data mapping for tickets, articles, agents, groups, contacts, or organizations. You can also ask for custom field mapping to fit your specific requirements.

Which Support Plan Includes Data Re-migration?

Premium and Signature plans include data re-migration. However, there’s a difference:

  • In a Premium plan, you can re-run data migration with 5 (five) days after your Full Data Migration is complete.
  • In a Signature plan, you can re-migrate your data within 10 (ten) days after your Full Data Migration.

After that time span, Migration Wizard automatically archives all Demo and Full Data Migrations according to our security policy.

If you have any questions, just drop a line to our support team—they are just a click away.
