Can I Use My Help Desk Systems During the Data Migration?

You can use both your platforms during data migration.

However, there are some peculiarities depending on which platform (i.e., source or target) your team works with during the data switch.

Using Target Platform

If you use the target platform while transferring data, some help desk systems require switching off triggers and notifications. It’s like a coin with two sides:

  • There won’t be tons of messages during data migration.
  • Double-check whether your workflow performs fine without triggers and notifications for a certain time.

Using Source Platform

If you use your source platform during the data migration, follow these steps

  • Check the results of the Full Data migration.
  • Switch all incoming messages and communication channels (calls, chats, emails) on the target platform.
  • Run a delta migration.
  • Start to use your target platform.

What Is Delta Migration?

Delta migration is a process when updated and newly created tickets migrate to the target platform. There’s no duplicate records thread because our service detects the new and updated data automatically.

When and Why Do You Need Delta?

If you use the source platform during the migration, the updated tickets and tickets that were created during the data migration aren’t switched. With our special option - delta migration - you can migrate only new records to your target help desk tool.
