How to check the result of Demo Migration in Help Scout

Once the Demo Migration is finished, the Wizard will show you a summary table with a number of records that were transitioned along with downloadable CSV reports on each record type, except for tickets. With tickets, you can click the ‘View 20 records’ button. These reports are meant to ease the process of checking demo results as they contain the exact IDs of transferred entities.

Download reports to view a list of record IDs in the source database and respective new IDs in Help Scout. Try to find and locate each record. The CSV file will look like this:

Full Data Migration can go seamlessly, but in order for this to happen, you have to take matters into your own hands and thoroughly examine each ticket. To do so, click on the ‘View 20 records’ button and make sure to check the tickets along with their Type, Source, Status, Priority, Custom Fields, Requester, Agent, Tags migrated correctly.

Additionally, if you’re migrating to the Knowledge Base you should check the statuses of articles, along with their location and category. Only after everything was thoroughly examined, you can initiate the Full Data Migration.

Note that the tickets migrated during the demo will be removed from Help Scout automatically to prevent any duplicates on your future helpdesk.
