- Needed to migrate only relevant support tickets and contacts from ManageEngine to Halo, excluding unnecessary data. Required custom field mapping across platforms, including “Mode,” “Impact Level,” and “Request Source,” to ensure accurate data migration.
- Ensuring proper alignment of multiple ticket types (Incident, Alert, Change Request, Equipment, Query, New Starter, Leaver, Task, Project) while maintaining historical ticket data.

Match and map your data
Map your agents, customers, incidents, requests, problems, changes, knowledge base content, and related fields. You can also choose extra automated options to migrate more data types or skip certain data.
Run a Free Demo
Try a test run before you commit. The Migration Wizard moves 20 sample records and gives you a detailed report of the results.
Review your demo results
Look over your Free Demo report. If some records didn’t transfer properly, adjust your settings in the mapping step and run the demo again. You can repeat this as many times as you like — for free.

Add tags to newly migrated tickets
During the migration, Help Desk Migration can automatically attach predefined tags to every ticket imported into Halo. If you add the tag migrated-from-[old-platform], all imported tickets will carry this tag so your team immediately knows these records came from the old system. After migration, your team can validate the imported tickets without mixing them with new, incoming ones.
Update cross-links between articles
When your knowledge base moves to Halo, article IDs and URLs change. Without updating links, internal “See also” or “Related article” references would break. Help Desk Migration detects article URLs or links inside your knowledge base content and updates them so they point to the correct new Halo article locations.

Halo has made multiple improvements serving to greater flexibility and higher efficiency of ITSM and ESM operations.
Self-Service Portal has been improved radically: the service presented a brand-new configuration with default column views, integrated 3 new widgets and updated how asset and custom field data are shown.
Now, Halo includes functionality for daily, weekly, and monthly forecast generation and report creation.
The Change Enablement feature in Halo introduced Maintenance Windows. This built-in functionality assists teams in managing their maintenance. Windows can be defined selectively per asset or site, or globally. Configuration items automatically fall within active windows. Maintenance settings can be inherited from parent applications.
AI generated summary helps prevent duplicate submissions by warning authors about existence of a similar article. Besides, AI connects assets to matching tickets according to a minimum vector score.
Halo ITSM Migration News
When it comes to Halo migration, we have recently integrated the Internal Memo’s and Resolution fields’ support for migration. Internal Memo field is used for communications that should only be visible to internal staff. Thus, now it’s possible to migrate this internal data from, for example, Zendesk’s internal notes to Halo ITSM Internal Memo.
