How to check the outcome of Demo Migration for Kayako
Once the Demo is complete, you will see this summary of records in a table form. Each record type will depict a number of records transferred as a part of the test portion of data along with the downloadable CSV reports, except for tickets and Knowledge Base articles which are accompanied by a ‘View 20 records’ button. These reports contain the exact IDs of the records that were transferred during demo migration.
To check the results, simply download one of the reports to get a view of the records list with all the entities that were used for the Demo from the source database and respective new IDs in Kayako. Try to locate and examine each record in your new help desk. The report file will look like this:
To examine the tickets, click on the ‘View 20 records’ button. This will open another list with IDs that are fully clickable. Go through each ticket and check if everything along with Type, Status, Priority, Source and Custom Fields, Requester, Agent, and Tags. If you are moving your Knowledge Base, make sure if all the articles have correct statuses. Then, check the rest of the data. If all the bonds were established in Kayako correctly, you can move on to the Full Migration.
Note that the tickets transferred during the trial migration will be removed automatically from Kayako before the Full Data Migration. This will make sure no duplicates in your help desk afterward.
You’ll get a hold of similar data migration reports after the Full Data Migration. Make sure you give the same effort and time to examine everything to get the best experience working with Kayako.
