How to check the result of Demo Migration in Zendesk
Once the Demo Migration is completed, you’ll get a view of a table depicting a number of entities, including Tickets, Contacts, Organizations, etc. Each record type is accompanied by a downloadable CSV report containing the exact entities IDs that were transferred during the migration. The exceptions are the Ticket type and Knowledge Base articles that are accompanied by the ‘View 20 records button’.
A report will open a list of record IDs in the help desk you're migrating from and IDs of "new" Tickets in Zendesk. Try to check and examine each record. The report should look like this:
A key to successful Full Data Migration lies in detailed examination right after the trial transfer takes place. Thus, we insist you take time, download all reports, and carefully check each ticket. In order to do so, click on the ‘View 20 records’ button and examine the tickets along with their Type, Source, Status, Priority, Custom Fields, Requester, Agent, Tags migrated correctly.
Additionally, if you’re migrating to the Knowledge Base, make sure to check the statuses of articles and their placement. Once again, everything is neatly organized to prevent any headaches during checking. If you’re satisfied with the result of the Demo Migration, initiate the Full Data Migration.
Keep in mind that you’ll get to download the similar reports after the Full Data Migration to make the whole process of post-examination easier. Make sure you repeat the same steps, but on a larger scale.
