Could you please share your experience with data migration using Help Desk Migration?

The data migration went well and the support was top notch. I encountered some issues which were related to unclear documentation. The support team assisted me until the issue was resolved.

What made you switch from Freshservice to Autotask PSA, and how did Help Desk Migration help you address the challenges?

We had to temporarily switch away from our PSA due to a contractual issue with the software vendor. Once the issue was resolved, we switched back and had to copy our data from a temporary ticketing system to our PSA.

So, migrating historical data was a key part of your transition—would you say that’s accurate?

We had ongoing work that we needed to see through to completion and we had tickets that needed to be billed.

Why would you recommend using an automated data migration tool?

It greatly decreases the amount of time it takes to migrate between systems. It also helps reduce the amount of time technicians or help desk employees have to work on reconciling migrated data.

We’re always curious—how did you first hear about Help Desk Migration?

I searched on Google for tools to help migrate between FreshService and Autotask.

What other options did you consider aside from our service?

FreshService’s native XML export was the only other option I considered. We had a very short window between when the contract issues were resolved and when we lost access to FreshService.

What are 2–3 tips you’d give to others planning a data migration?

If you have time, make sure to plan and test your migration as much as possible. Also, make sure that any notifications that could be sent to users or agents have been disabled during the migration.
