How to Export Track-It Data Using an Automated Tool

Help Desk Migration never stops improving its tool and possibilities. That’s why we’re constantly updating our services with new features, and this time is no exception. So, in today’s blog post, we present a new and unique opportunity for Track-It users. From this moment on, you will be able to export all your data from Track-It to a CSV file or directly to a brand new system.

Now, as usual, let’s see which entities are possible to export and are there any differences from the standard process.

Supported records and migration peculiarities

With Help Desk Migration service, you can automatically transfer records, including:

  • Tickets with their Attachments, Custom Fields, Public, and Private Notes;
  • Contacts and Organizations;
  • Agents;
  • and Knowledge Base Articles with their Attachments.
Important! Keep in mind that all the Ticket Attachments will move into the FIRST Comment linked to this very Ticket!

How to set up a data migration from Track-It?

The setup process for Track-It data export is similar to the standard data migration process. To begin with, sign up on our website and set up a new data migration.

Then, from the list of available help and service desks, pick Track-It as a source platform. Provide all the necessary access credentials for the tool to be able to reach the data and move it to the new system.

The next step is similar to the first one, but you’ll have to pick the target help desk (or a CSV file format) and provide the respective credentials, too.

After granting access to our tool, you’ll have to pick the objects that you need to export from Track-It and match ticket fields, and agents. Select Tickets and the Migration Wizard will open the ticket field mapping form. Complete the mapping and hit Save when done. Then, press the "Match items" button next to agents. Match these records and save the settings.

When ready with data mapping, you can start the demo migration. It is a required step for you to test our tool and ensure that your data moves correctly during the full migration process. It will take up to 5 minutes and will show how 20 random tickets from Track-It will migrate to a new environment. If you’re satisfied with the demo migration result, move on to the full process.
