How to connect the TOPdesk with Migration Wizard
To migrate from TOPdesk, provide the following access credentials to connect it to the Migration Wizard:
- URL of your TOPdesk account
- Username
- Application password
To create an application password for API communication
To use the API, an application password is required instead of the web interface login password. This setup is currently available only for operators. For public API use, refer to the old tutorial.
Create an application password
Go to Operator menu > My Settings in the top right of TOPdesk.In the Application passwords block, choose ‘Add‘.

In the “Create a new application password” popup, enter the application name or purpose. This helps differentiate between passwords for different applications using the API. Optionally, set an expiry date for the password. The default expiry is one year.

Click the “Create” button. The password will be displayed in the “Copy the application password now” popup. Copy it immediately as it will be hashed before storing in the database.
