How to Bulk Update Request types in Jira Service Management
When setting up a migration to Jira Service Management, you can specify a default Issue type to be applied to all issues. Unfortunately, you can't specify multiple issue types because each issues types has its own workflow, and therefore custom fields.
However, request types need to be set by hand, once you have records imported.
As for now, you can’t set the request type when configuring the migration. Without the request type, customers will not be able to view all request details. To fix this, after the migration, set a valid request type using the Bulk Update option.
Follow these steps:
Step 1. Select Search > Advanced search for issues
Step 2. Set the filter to pull up the issues you want to change
Step 3. Click the three dots top-right of the page and then Bulk Change.
Step 4. Select the issues you'd like to perform the bulk operation on, and select Next.
Step 5. Select Edit Issues, and select Next.
Step 6. Check the Change Customer Request Type operation from the list of available operations
Step 7. Select the necessary request type and click Next.
Step 8. Review your bulk operation, and select Confirm when you are happy with the operation.
